Website Review
Comparison of https://www.behance.net/featured and https://www.artstation.com/
1. Compare and Contrast
Both sites are fairly similar as they both allow their members of the site to post their material directly to the site. The two websites allow other members to give feedback on content they enjoy that is posted to the site. As they both feature user submitted content, Behance is only for content made by Adobe programs. Artstation features work from any type of graphic design, from 3D to Photoshop. I like how both websites showcase the programs used to make the designs. In case someonw was interested in creating similar work.
2. Strengths and Weaknesses
Strengths
Behance- The simple design and background of the website makes the designs stand out more. The background lets the designs shine and makes the audience focus on them more than the style of the site. Behance has a social media feel to it, showcases the designs with the most likes and positive feedback. When scrolling you can see how many likes and comments posts have gotten.
Artstation- The variety of content of the site really makes it easy for anyone visiting the site to find something they like. As you can find 3D work, Adobe work, videos and etc.It also offers more content than Behance. With books that can help you learn and challenge events that members can participate in.
Weaknesses
Behance- Since this is an Adobe site, it is limited to just their programs. User that don’t have Adobe can’t really find designs on there they can utilize. The navigation can be confusing at times, as it offers two different navigation bars. One bar is at the top with few options and the other one on the top of each page.
Artstation- The homepage of the site is a lot to take in at first glance. As it has no clear structure just a bunch of different designs everywhere. Some of the designs are different sizes making the look of the page weird. It seemed difficult to find the homepage at times when clicking on to other pages. No clear home button on the navigation bars.

Classmate Reponses
Amanda Davis:
Great reviews! I had never heard of ArtStation and found it intriguing. When I visited the page I was very overwhelmed. As you mentioned, it is a lot to take in! I went to the "Fan" section, but was little disappointed that I was required to create an account to look at anything. I was hoping to just scroll through projects and get ideas. I feel like if I spent more time on it, however, this would be a great resource for my personal artwork. Thanks for sharing!

Great reviews! I haven't heard of either of these sites, but I'm so glad I took the time to look at them! I think you were spot on with your analysis of ArtStation and it's weaknesses. The site is incredibly distracting and difficult to navigate. The icons being different sizes and organized with no rhyme or reason make it especially difficult to find something in particular.

Very cool selection, not going to lie, I got sucked down a rabbit hole on Behance! Some of the pieces move, drawing the eye to look at the piece longer. On Behance you can click on a piece and scroll to see more work from the same theme, also pretty cool. Art station was a little too crowded for me. It seems too crowded maybe because the thumbnails are small, creating an illusion of cluster. Also not the biggest fan of the dark background. But, I do like what the website is about (finding jobs).
